The Central Oregon Spinners & Weavers Guild (COSW) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and has been active for 50+ years with over 100 members to network, share, learn and teach arts. The guild is located throughout Crook, Deschutes and Jefferson Counties in Oregon to help anyone interested in fiber arts. The guild usually meets twice a month in an attempt to accommodate the wide demographics of the membership.

All activities have moved to Zoom virtual gatherings during this pandemic.

COSW Mission Statement: “to educate members and the public about fiber arts”

Members have access to a generous library with books covering many of the fiber related arts, weaving, spinning, felting, basketry, beading just to name a few topics.  The guild also maintains an equipment checkout resource for active guild members.  The equipmentincludes tools for fiber preparation, spinning and weaving.

To accomplish this, COSW offers workshops throughout the year as well as participating in activities in in public places.  Guild members support the central Oregon art community by demonstrating the art of weaving and spinning in a number of public venues. The guild showcases the work of it’s members in the fiber arts room at the county fairs, in public libraries, and art walks. COSW encourages all ages to experience the wonderful world of fiber arts. We offer a family membership to encourage all ages to join in the fun.

Check out our new video titled From Fiber to Fabric. One of our talented guild members created this video to show the many steps that go into creating fabric.
